Stance

After a twatter discourse resulting in a chasm wide difference in opinion…
It piqued my interest in where all y’all stand.

What is your stance on non-vegans speaking out for animal rights?
-could be humane treatment, general cruelty, fur, etc….

Reason I am asking is I was tagged in a tweet featuring a music video…
The video is by a band that is not vegan….
The lead singer has said in interviews how ‘fucking delicious’ prosciutto is…
The lyrics seem to loosely be about oppression, perhaps loss…?
In an interview, when asked about the video/lyrics, the lead singer referred to horses as “…working beasts…”, & also wondered what will happen [to horses] when we “…no longer need them”?

A vegan on twatter feels the video is positive as it shows anonymous cube of truth [minority vegan anonymous activists showing the truth about animal farming horrors].

I would love to say, that yes, this is positive….but, I can’t.

My stance leans more toward ineffectiveness of the cube of truth…as the band featuring it wasn’t even compelled to become vegan.

Who knows…maybe this is why lots of vegans dislike me….

But, I do not like saying people shouldn’t speak out. They should…always.

I’ll go with the wisdom of the cannibal above. Along with that line of thinking, can a cannibal who doesn’t eat animals be vegan? I don’t see why not. Anything to thin the herd, I say.

I also wonder the same thing when I go to bull protests. We are encouraged not to mantion veganism as I might isolate a big proportion of the people on our side… One women can’t stand the bull ‘sports’ but then one day she commented that she couldn’t wait to go home and eat steak. I’m not sure if people notice what they’re saying/thinking or maybe they think they need meat to live whereas they don’t need bull entertainment… Who knows.

Animal-eaters who express outrage over some specific incident of animal cruelty are psychopathic hypocrites. They are so messed up in their minds that they can cry about a lion shot by a hunter, or a dolphin caught in a net, or a puppy neglected and abused… as they simultaneously bite into the rotting flesh of an innocent being they paid to have tortured and murdered. Speciesism is a very sick, twisted, insane form of discrimination and prejudice. People who’s minds are inflicted with speciesism are impossible to reason with. When it comes to animals, they are completely devoid of reason, morals, ethic, empathy, and compassion.

Hypocrisy, fo’ sho’, like someone claiming to be an environmentalist but owning multiple cars. At least they’re aware there’s an issue (as opposed to those ploughing on as if everything is hunky dory), but there needs to the next step for real positive change.

The thing with veganism is it forces people to acknowledge they’re (or society as a whole) doing something wrong. People hate that sort of deep-seated personal/social shift which is, in part, why there’s a vast amount of vitriol spewed about progressivism (especially online). Not being vegan provides a more luxurious lifestyle, sure, but it’s decadent, selfish, and destructive. Thusly, I’d state anyone going: “Yeah, animal rights is great!”, whilst munching on a burger, is being a tad moronic. Innit.
