Born into industrial dairy
Stolen from my mother, scary
In pain, frightened, alone, so very
All for your unnecessary
Customary
Dietary
Culinary
I was saved, & brought to a sanctuary
Visitors saw me
Not an ‘it’. ME
Dudley
I was free
I opened eyes, you see
They saw my calmness
I stood flawless
My eyes asked ‘Do not harm us’
In my presence, they were honest
And saw the cruelties inflicted upon us
They embraced me, solace
And to me, they made a promise
Be Vegan
Dig Out Your Soul
This poem was inspired by Dudley.
His story inspired countless people to stop eating animals.
While he is no longer here, his energy lives, & he continues to resonate.
