Dig Out Your Soul
As you reflect on past experiences, you can’t help but feel a deep sense of unease. It’s as if a curtain has been lifted from your eyes, and you’re finally seeing things for what they truly are.
When you were younger, you were indoctrinated into a society that you believed to be a compassionate herd. At the time, speciesism seemed like the perfect fit for you. You were searching for something to believe in, some one to guide you through life.
The speciesist program promised to do just that.
At first, everything seemed harmless enough. You would gather together for lunches, and dinners, plates covered in dead animals that were ‘ok’ to eat according to your implanted beliefs. You found yourself feeling more and more connected to other animal eaters, and to your animal eating leaders, who seemed wise and knowledgeable while masticating on muscle.
But as time went on, you began learning on your own, and things began to change. Your customs seemed more extreme, and you were told that this was the way it was. You were told to report animal cruelty, yet handed fistfuls of dollars over to the butcher who handed you packaged animal flesh. Everything stopped making sense. You were making the connection. You began to see animal cruelty in everything, so you cut off contact with your family and friends, because they couldn’t see what you now saw. You made the decision to devote yourself entirely to living ethically.
Your friends believed that you were making sacrifices because you stopped eating animals. Your co workers made dumb jokes about your flesh free lunches. Social media users commented all day long, yet never said anything. You were making necessary changes to align your mouth with your soul. You had always thought that the masses knew best, and that you could trust tradition completely. You were so wrong. You know that now.
Tradition was steeped in oppression, cruelty and violence.
You were paying for those things…things you opposed.
It wasn’t until you left the death cult that you realized the truth.
You had been part of a cult, and you hadn’t even realized it.
Family, friends, schools, media, government had manipulated and controlled you, using your washed brain to keep power and control.
Looking back on it now, you can see the speciesist signs that you missed.
Speciesism isolated you from other species sentient worlds, and you were taught your species was superior to all other species. You were told that your species had all the power, and that you should never deviate from societal norms. That very norm you now know to be nothing more than a socially accepted pathology.
It’s a scary thought, to think that you were part of something so cruel, so oppressive, without even realizing it. But you’re grateful to have taken back your mind, and now you have the ability to warn others about the dangers of this death cult.
It’s important to always question what you’re told, and to never give up your autonomy or Independent thinking for the sake of repugnant & redundant beliefs.
Stop sponsoring animal suffering.
